Integral to the success of the hub and spoke model is the fact that we manage a fleet of trucks and drivers that service daily call cartage business when they are not providing surge services to our dedicated customers.  This means that our dedicated customers benefit from the availability and first access to our terminal fleet, but do not pay for these units/drivers unless there is a need.  By contrast, a private fleet would need to maintain extra trucks and drivers to ensure service during surge, which is not a cost-effective way to manage transportation.  All surge equipment and drivers are covered by the high levels of training, maintenance and insurance available in the regular dedicated fleet.
